On the right track - Georgian executives successfully complete virtual manager training program "Fit for Partnership with Germany”

GICON®-InTraBiD GmbH expands experience in virtual workshops

He feels he is on the right track, sums up Valeriani Gamtkitsulashvili after his participation in the manager training program of the BMWi. The general manager of the "Twins Wine House" winery in the Georgian village of Napareuli, together with 13 other managers, took part in the program, which was implemented by GICON®-InTraBiD in Dresden. The program took place in an online format, as has been customary since the pandemic began 18 months ago, but was nevertheless more severely affected by Covid-19 than previous ones, as several participants fell ill with Covid-19 during the program. Gamtkitsulashvili, however, gained a lot of new knowledge and experience during the training and is sticking to the goal of offering his products in Germany, even against significant international competition. His next step is to visit the Anuga and Prowein trade fairs. There he wants to win over more German importers for Georgian wines and apply high international standards to the processes in his company.

In addition to importing wines, the entrepreneurs' wide-ranging business plans included spirits, dried fruit, children's backpacks and suspended metal ceilings. Among them was Ekaterine Kheladze from the Georgian entrepreneurial organization "Women for Tomorrow" (W4T). After eight weeks, she can point to successful talks with the Association of German Women Entrepreneurs (VdU). Both organizations will start a closer cooperation in the coming year, during which the Georgian women entrepreneurs will get to know the procedures in the VdU offices and state associations during a working visit to Germany. The VdU has also announced that it will support the further development of W4T in word and action.

The entire program now takes place completely online and has already proven itself with several groups. The individual modules have been optimized by GICON®-InTraBiD for the video format in such a way that group activities and interactive workshops are also possible. Despite the lack of personal and direct exchange, all participants are once again confident that they have taken a big step towards Germany and Europe with their participation in the Manager Training Program. Zurab Gambashidze, sales manager of the wine and spirits producer Kartveli in Martkopi, was also optimistic about establishing initial business contacts with Germany in the future: "The program has opened initial doors for me and provided ways of cooperation that I would not have been able to take advantage of without the help of GICON®-InTraBiD. In my experience with importers, distributors, and retail chains, it takes more than eight weeks to do this, but all the knowledge I gained in the trainings and 'business in practice' meetings gives me a better foundation for negotiations."
