Erika Carillo's small company "Happy Marmalade" has developed rapidly over the past twelve months. By June, the previous year’s revenue had already been doubled, as had the number of employees. Such was the report from Ms. Carillo, a participant in the manager training program "Fit for Partnership with Germany" in mid-June during a follow-up seminar in Mexico City with three groups from 2016. Traditionally, around twelve months after their stay in Germany, participants come together to look back on the results achieved in cooperation with German companies. Ms. Carillo's gaze, however, is already focused on the coming years. Originally, she wanted to supply the hand-mixed jams composed of exotic concoctions of papaya, mango and other fruits directly to chain stores and hotels. Due to the high demand, she has technologically upgraded her company, recalculated her prices and is now implementing her export plans with five German importers and a sales support team near Frankfurt am Main. "I learned something important in Dresden: Think big, if you want to be successful."
GICON® InTraBiD - success factor for new business cooperation
As part of the BMWi "Fit for Partnership with Germany" program, around 250 managers and executives from Belarus, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, the Russian Federation and Ukraine have participated in training at GICON® InTraBiD GmbH. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is the general manager of the program and provides coordination, which is implemented throughout Germany by 13 training centers - including GICON® InTraBiD GmbH.
GICON® InTraBiD thereby assumes the important role of intermediary and communicator between the participants and companies in Germany.
"Think big" also applies to Mexican manufacturers of coated fittings
Rafael Aguirre and Juan Manuel Robles were also able to significantly expand their businesses after their stay at GICON® InTraBiD. Aguirre delivered the first 7,000 vacuum-coated fittings to the Mexican production facility of the German company emz - Hanauer. Their high quality and prompt execution led to the fact that his company is now delivering more than ten times that amount - 83,000 units a month. Robles, on the other hand, has been delivering customer-tailored printed circuit boards worth more than half a million Euros annually to the automotive supplier Eissmann Automotive Deutschland GmbH, with whom he commenced negotiations during his stay in Germany. The term of the contract is seven years, he explained at the follow-up seminar.
Peter Rösler from GICON® InTraBiD GmbH looked after the Mexican participants for more than a year and summarized the results: "The economic successes show that the concept of thorough preparation and personal consultation supplemented by a follow-up phase is taking root. With the company visits in Germany, we have developed an instrument which will help both future business partners build confidence and convince themselves personally of the benefit of a cooperation. If this results in sustainable partnerships and contracts are brought to life, all the better."
