German energy know-how for three continents

17 managers and executives successfully complete the "Fit for Partnership with Germany" program.

Seventeen managers and executives are taking new insights and experience in energy efficiency back to Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America.  After four weeks, they ended their stay at GICON®-InTraBiD GmbH as part of the managerial training program of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

The participants from Egypt, Mexico, Moldova, Russia and the Ukraine acquired their knowledge at meetings with Saxon experts, including automation specialist HERMOS Systems Dresden, Feralpi Steel in Riesa and systems engineer Tiegel GmbH in Radeberg. They also appreciated the "extremely interesting and important" visits to the STS Textiles GmbH in Gruenbach and the extensive exchange of ideas at the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS).

In addition, some participants arranged initial business with companies throughout Germany. Dmytro Melnyk from the Ukrainian water and sewage company VODSERVIS - KHARKIV will be representing WaterSam GmbH & Co. KG in his home country in the future. To reduce energy consumption, Khaled Abdelhalim will be refurbishing his kilns in Cairo with assistance from Krumbach-based.Hans Lingl Anlagenbau and Verfahrenstechnik GmbH & Co. KG. Furthermore, Rafael Cuellar wants to bring energy storage solutions from Neufahrn-based Riello Power Systems to Mexico. As a result of their business meetings, several participants in the program announced that they would purchase equipment and services from Germany at a volume of approx.1.2 million euros in the coming months.

As part of the BMWi program entitled “Fit for Partnership with Germany”, approximately 150 managers and executives from Egypt, Belarus, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, the Russian Federation and Ukraine have participated in training at GICON® InTraBiD GmbH since 2014. The program is coordinated by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), acting as general manager on behalf of BMWi, and is implemented throughout Germany at 13 training centers - including GICON® INTRABID.
