Top IT services from Eastern Europe

Ukrainian managers from high-tech industries want to cooperate with German partners

Competition for Silicon Valley: Ukraine is the largest exporter of information technology (IT) services in Europe. The Eastern European country also ranks among the top 25 most attractive locations for software development worldwide. More than 170,000 people are employed in this growth industry. Around a dozen of them, young managers and other specialists and executives, will take part in extensive training and further education measures at GICON's headquarters in Dresden in April 2020. They are part of a group of junior managers who want to establish business relations with German companies within the framework of the manager training program "Fit for Partnership with Germany" of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. The four-week training courses and company visits are organized and carried out by GICON InTraBiD GmbH.

The companies from all over Ukraine come not only as outsourcing partners, in order for German IT companies to offer cost-effective programming services, but their solutions also embody high quality and performance standards. These include projects for autonomous driving and robotics, virtual reality applications as well as analysis and control systems based on artificial intelligence. Among those companies coming to Dresden is Intelsoft, a 12-employee company from Kyiv that was recently recognized as the "Best Ukrainian IT start-up of 2019" by the Ukrainian magazine "MC.today". As with the World Bank and the major French bank BNP Baribas, marketing manager Mitya Kovalsky now wants to convince German companies of his automated data analysis system.

The group is complemented by representatives of the aerospace industry, the chemical industry and the mechanical engineering sector, who are coming to Germany with very specific ideas: they range from the search for suppliers of 3D printing technology on the one hand, to meeting potential customers for graphite oxides and specially-patented catalyst retrofit kits for all types and sizes of combustion engines on the other Hand.
